Kisspeptin is a signaling peptide derived from the KISS1 gene, investigated mainly for its role in regulating the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis. It acts by activating the GPR54/KISS1R receptor and has been studied in endocrine, neuroendocrine and reproductive research.
