Storage guide

Store your peptides
properly

Proper storage is essential to maintain the integrity and purity of research peptides. Here you will find everything you need to know.

Storage conditions

Three temperature zones

Each stage of a peptide's life cycle requires specific storage conditions.

🧊
-20°C
Polvo liofilizado

Ideal state for long-term storage. The powdered peptide is stable at this temperature for months or years.

⏱ Hasta 24 meses
🌡️
2–8°C
Reconstituted solution

Once dissolved with bacteriostatic water, the peptide must be kept refrigerated and used soon.

⏱ 30–60 days
🌡️
15–25°C
Transit (lyophilized)

As lyophilized powder, the peptide is stable at room temperature for weeks or months. 24–72 hr shipping poses no risk to its integrity.

📦

Storage at NeoPeptidos

Your peptide is kept refrigerated at 2–8°C in our facilities until dispatch, protected from light, preserving the integrity of the batch.

🚚

Transit and shipping

The peptide travels in its lyophilized (powder) form, which is stable at room temperature for weeks or months. That is why 24–72 hr shipping does not compromise its integrity. We pack it securely and discreetly.

📬

Receipt

When you receive your order, move the vial to refrigeration (2°C – 8°C) immediately if you are not going to use it in the next few days.

🧪

Pre-reconstitution

Take the vial out of the refrigerator and let it reach room temperature (15–20 min) before opening it. This prevents moisture from the air from condensing on the lyophilized powder, which could start dissolving it prematurely.

💧

Reconstitution

Add the bacteriostatic water (included in your order) according to the volume calculated with our tool. Dissolve by rolling gently, label with date and concentration, and refrigerate immediately.

🌡️

Post-reconstitution

Keep the vial at 2–8°C and use it within the following 30 to 60 days. If you need to store it longer, divide it into aliquots and freeze at -20°C before the first hours after reconstitution have passed. Never refreeze a solution that has already been thawed.

Common mistakes and how to avoid them

Storage mistakes are the main cause of potency loss in peptides.

❌ Freeze/thaw cycles

Each cycle degrades the peptide structure. If you thawed a vial, use it or refrigerate it — do not freeze it again.

❌ Exposure to direct light

UV and visible radiation can degrade some peptides. Always store in amber vials or in a dark place.

❌ Storing the powder in the refrigerator unsealed

Lyophilized powder can absorb moisture from the air if the vial is opened frequently. Use aliquots.

❌ Not labeling the reconstituted vial

Without the date and concentration written down, you will not know whether the solution is still valid. Always label.

✅ Use aliquots for frequent use

Divide the vial into individual portions before freezing. Each session you thaw only what you need.

✅ Dejar equilibrar a temperatura ambiente

Before opening a vial from the freezer, wait 15–20 minutes for it to reach room temperature to avoid condensation.

Preguntas frecuentes sobre almacenamiento

What if my peptide arrived at room temperature? ▾
If the peptide was lyophilized (powder) during transit, this is completely normal and nothing to worry about. Powdered peptides are stable at room temperature for weeks and even months, so shipping time poses no risk. For maximum long-term preservation, move it to the refrigerator (2–8°C) or freezer when you receive it. If you notice the powder has clumped or changed appearance, contact us.
Can the reconstituted solution be kept for more than 60 days? ▾
It is not recommended to exceed 60 days for refrigerated reconstituted solutions (as a general reference, 30 to 60 days depending on the peptide). The benzyl alcohol in bacteriostatic water inhibits bacterial growth, but chemical degradation of the peptide can begin progressively. If you need to use the compound over a longer period, it is best to divide it into aliquots and freeze at -20°C immediately after reconstitution.
Can I freeze the reconstituted solution? ▾
Yes, but only if it is frozen for the first time. You can divide the solution into individual aliquots immediately after reconstituting and freeze them at -20°C. Each aliquot is thawed only once. What you should not do is thaw, use part of it and refreeze the rest.
How do I know if a peptide has degraded? ▾
In most cases it cannot be determined by eye. Some signs of possible degradation are: a change in the color of the solution (yellowing or abnormal cloudiness), a visible precipitate that does not disappear with gentle warming, or an unusual odor. If in doubt, the safest thing is not to use the compound and to contact us for guidance.
Does bacteriostatic water have an expiration date? ▾
Yes. Unopened bacteriostatic water can be stored at room temperature for 2–3 years. Once opened, the benzyl alcohol maintains sterility for approximately 28 days. After that period, it is recommended to discard the opened vial and open a new one to avoid the risk of microbial contamination.
