El AOD-9604 es un péptido de 16 aminoácidos formado por el fragmento 177-191 del extremo C-terminal de la hormona de crecimiento humana, con una tirosina añadida en el extremo N-terminal. Se diseñó para estudiar por separado la actividad de esa región sobre el tejido adiposo, sin los efectos de la hormona completa sobre el crecimiento ni sobre el IGF-1.
