Somatropin has the same sequence as human growth hormone and acts directly on its receptors in the liver, muscle, bone and fat tissue. It is an approved medicine for specific indications, such as growth hormone deficiency. Because GH is supplied from outside, the body detects sufficient levels and reduces its own production.
