Information for our customers
It is one of the questions we are asked most. Here we explain, clearly and transparently, the reason behind this labeling and why it is the standard across the industry.
If you have noticed that our products carry the statement “for research purposes only” and “not fit for human consumption”, we want you to understand exactly why. It is not a minor detail or an arbitrary formality: it is the framework that allows these high-purity compounds to be imported and sold regularly in Mexico.
The peptides and compounds we offer belong to a category known internationally as “research use only” (RUO), that is, materials intended for scientific and laboratory research. This category includes reagents, analytical standards and compounds used in studies, characterization and experimental development.
Under this classification, the products are not evaluated, registered or approved as medicines, supplements or consumer products. That is why they carry no instructions for use, doses or therapeutic indications: legally they are not consumer products, but reference material for research.
In Mexico, the import and sale of medicines, supplements and products for human consumption is regulated by health authorities such as COFEPRIS, and requires specific sanitary registrations, clinical trials and approvals that apply only to products intended for consumption.
Materials classified as research materials follow a different regulatory route. Being properly labeled as laboratory material and not as a consumer product, they can be imported regularly under the framework that applies to research reagents and supplies. Labeling is therefore not a cosmetic technicality: it is what defines the product's legal category and makes it possible for it to reach Mexico transparently.
The “research use only” labeling is what determines that these compounds are treated as laboratory supplies and not as consumer products. It is precisely that status that allows their regular import and sale within the correct framework.
This is not a NeoPeptidos-only criterion. All serious research peptide suppliers —in Mexico, the United States, Europe and Asia— use the same labeling. The world's major scientific reagent manufacturers apply exactly the same “research use only” classification to this type of compound.
When a supplier presents these products with consumption instructions, doses or therapeutic promises, it is not only stepping outside the regulatory framework: it is also a sign that it is not operating with the seriousness the category demands. Our labeling is, in that sense, a sign that we do things properly.
Treating each product as research material has a direct advantage for the buyer: it forces us to maintain laboratory standards in everything we do.
If after reading this you still have questions about our products, their labeling or our quality process, write to us. We will be happy to explain with full transparency.
